Cerca del final de la tarde y tal como lo habían prometido llegaron a nuestro embarcadero Katerina & Gabriela, 2 simpáticas turistas de Suiza que hace varios días se encuentran realizando distintas actividades en contacto pleno con nuestra naturaleza.
Near the end of the afternoon and as I had promised to come to our pier Katerina and Gabriela, two sympathetic tourists from Switzerland for several days are conducting various activities in full contact with our nature.
Con muchas ganas de navegar, las dos intrépidas turistas demostraron contar con vasta experiencia en el manejo de las palas, adaptándose fácilmente al sistema de gobierno (timón) de nuestros sea-kayaks lo que les permitió enfrentar los inesperados cambios en la dirección del viento que tuvimos durante nuestra navegación y compensar los efectos de la deriva provocada por las corrientes marinas. With eager to sail, the two intrepid tourists proved to have vast experience in paddling, adapting easily to the system of government (rudder) of our sea-kayaking enabling them to cope with unexpected changes in wind direction that we had during our navigation and offset the effects of drift caused by sea currents.
Iniciamos nuestra expedición con viento regulares el Sector Norte que nos daban de pleno por banda y amura de estribor, nuestro avance por el canal que separa la Isla Quinta de la costa norte era lento, buscando protección en los paredones rocosos de esa margen y poco antes de abandonar este canal giramos por babor ingresando en una protegida y pequeña bahía que se encuentra en la punta Oeste de la Isla Quiroga, allí tomamos unas fotos y descartamos la posibilidad de cruzar hacia el Islote de los Lobos dejando la misma para nuestro viaje de retorno a muelle. We started our expedition with the regular wind Sector North which gave us a full band and on starboard side, our progress through the channel that separates the island from the north coast was slow and we need to find protection in the rocky walls of this and shortly before leaving this channel by turning the portside and we arriving a small protected bay that is located on the western of the island Quiroga, there we took some pictures and we evaluated the possibility of crossing into the Islet of Sea Lyons, but these was not feasible due to strong wind.

Iniciamos nuestra expedición con viento regulares el Sector Norte que nos daban de pleno por banda y amura de estribor, nuestro avance por el canal que separa la Isla Quinta de la costa norte era lento, buscando protección en los paredones rocosos de esa margen y poco antes de abandonar este canal giramos por babor ingresando en una protegida y pequeña bahía que se encuentra en la punta Oeste de la Isla Quiroga, allí tomamos unas fotos y descartamos la posibilidad de cruzar hacia el Islote de los Lobos dejando la misma para nuestro viaje de retorno a muelle. Continuamos nuestra travesía con destino final Cañadon Torcido adonde desembarcamos para hacer un pequeño trekking hasta la costa y un picnic a la espera de mejoras en la condición meteorológica, el viento fue decreciendo a medida en que disminuía el calor y mientras nuestras turistas asombradas por la “leyenda del Calafate” y luego de escuchar la misma, decidieron probar algunos pequeños y sabrosos frutos de esa autóctona planta patagónica.We continue our journey with a final destination Cañadón Torcido where disembarking for a short trek to the coast and a picnic while waiting for improvements in the weather, the wind was decreasing as it lowered the heat and while our tourists are shocked by the “legend of Calafate” and after listening the legend they decided to testing of some small and tasty fruits of this plant native of Patagonia.
De pronto el viento dejo de soplar, embarcamos y nos dirigimos hacia el Islote de los Lobos Marinos, al abandonar el Cañadon, grande fue nuestra sorpresa a ver que el viento había girado al Oeste, asi que con viento y corriente empujándonos por popa el retorno se presentaba como un viaje de relax, pero otra vez el viento comenzó a soplar y nuestro viaje de retorno fue experimentado algo asi como un proceso químico acelerado en el cual las partículas de relax fueron siendo reemplazadas por partículas de adrenalina y asi volvimos barrenando olas casi hasta a nuestro muelle al cual arribamos en pleno atardecer.
Increíblemente pocos minutos después de desembarcar y de retirar el agua a nuestras embarcaciones el viento paro totalmente otra vez...!
Suddenly the wind stopped blowing, boarding and we are heading to the Islet of Sea Lyons, at the moment of departure from Cañadón Torcido, was our big surprise to see that the wind had turned to the west, so with wind and current pushed by stern return was presented as a relaxing trip, but again the wind began to blow and our return trip was experienced something like a chemical process in which accelerated particles of relaxation were being replaced by particles of adrenaline and so we returned riding good waves almost up to our pier to which arrived in the evening. Amazingly few minutes after arriving and removing the water to our kayaks the wind totally stoped again ...!
